Nominees for The FxEctive Factor vegan talent contest confirmed

12th January 2018

The FxEctive Factor vegan talent contest is back at VegfestUK Brighton in 2018 on Saturday March 24th 2018, with altogether 9 nominees now confirmed for the pre-competition voting process which will count towards the final score of the contestants at the end of the contest at the event.

Celebrating the diversity and breadth of talent in the vegan scene currently, The FxEctive Factor started life back in 2016 at VegfestUK Brighton, when the competition attracted a full house of spectators and plenty of interest prior to the competition. This year’s edition has seen a number of quality vegan musicians nominated for the eagerly anticipated voting which will begin on February 10th.

Word from the organisers

The organisers of the competition added, “We’re delighted to introduce our 9 exceptionally talented nominees for The FxEctive Factor this year. That these 9 individuals have found ways to embed some of the core elements of veganism into their song entries, and thus celebrate being vegan with everybody in their music, is fantastic. With the sheer quality of songs we have received, we literally cannot wait for them to be played out in front of our judging panel at VegfestUK Brighton, who we’re sure will have a real headache in picking the winner.”

Competition format

All song entries and full biographies of the 9 nominees will be announced from February 1st – 9th 2018, and they will be entered into a poll which runs on The Vegfest Express online vegan magazine between February 10th – 28th 2018 inclusive, and the lowest-scoring nominee from the poll will miss out on competing at the FxEctive Factor proper, which is scheduled between 2-5pm on Saturday March 24th 2018 at the Brighton Centre.

For each of the remaining 8 contestants, the online voting will form half the scoring for the eventual results of the competition, with the other half of the scoring based on a 5-minute performance on the day in front of a panel of judges to be announced. The winner will be announced at 5pm on the day of the competition, which offers the chance to win £250 prize money plus another £250 for a charity of the winner’s choice that fits the VegfestUK criteria.
