Dance sensation Baby D joins Dance Stage lineup at VegfestUK Bristol 2018

Mobo award winner and dance sensation Baby D is one of the UK & Europe’s biggest dance success, with more than a million single sales worldwide and a chart-topping #4 debut album ‘Deliverance’, 4 top hit singles ‘I need your loving (Everybody’s gotta learn sometime)’, ‘So Pure’, ‘Take me to heaven’ and the no.1 hit ‘Let me be your fantasy’. The latter stayed in the national charts for over 2 years and sold over in excess of 400,000 copies in its 1st week of release alone and peaked at the no.1 national chart position for 2 weeks on November 24th 1994.

No surprise then to see beams of smiles on the faces of the organisers of VegfestUK Bristol – one of the UK’s biggest vegan food and lifestyle events right now – as they announce the appearance of this red-hot dance act to the Sunday evening part of their much-loved festival at Ashton Gate on May 27th 2018.

Baby D’s tunes hit just the right spots for the dance sensation that we’re looking for and we’re sure that her magical tunes will suit many types of audience to a magical festival we’ve got in store, where thousands of party goers mix with information seekers and food lovers in general, and get their dance feet tapping to an extensive collection of mesmerising music.”

Baby D will be appearing at 8:30pm on Sunday May 27th on the Dance Stage part of the event.

Baby D’s much-anticipated appearance at VegfestUK Bristol is part of a huge vegan food and music fiesta on Bank Holiday weekend May 26-27 at Ashton Gate stadium. Celebrating its 16th year in style, the festival runs throughout the day and evening, with a selection of other DJ’s confirmed on the Dance Stage and an Ujima Live Acts Stage with local acts handpicked by local radio station Ujima Radio 98fm.

Further, the evening parts of the whole event (after 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday) also see a number of indoor entertainment lounges in the Electro Swing lounge, the Blues Lounge and a Deep Chill zone, ensuring a stirring end to a fun-packed couple of days. Full lineups will be confirmed shortly.

Meanwhile, the daytime part of the event welcomes an in-house restaurant serving 3-course vegan meals, an outdoor VegfestUK “fan village” with street food caterers, around 30 traders and live music to complement the mix of around 220 stalls, talks, cookery demos during the day, followed by comedy, magicians and club nights in the evenings.

The name Baby D originates from the fact that she is called Dee and happens to be mad about babies! During the making of the hits, she was also making babies, proudly producing four in quick succession cleverly juggling motherhood and career.

Performing live for events such as Global Gathering, Raveology, Kisstory, Dance island, Raindance, Epidemik, Earthquake, Radio 1 Live, MTV’s Most Wanted and Moondance naming just a few.

Baby D has been involved with many other artists including ‘The Prodigy’ and featured on their ‘Music for a jilted generation’ album on the track ‘Break & Enter’; this track used a sample from Baby D’s “Casanova” track.

The Prodigy then remixed this track in their own unique style and was released on the Casanova cd single as the ‘Prodigy pump action’ Remix and the limited edition 2CD ‘Deliverance’ album. Other artists Baby D has been involved with include The Ratpack, The Chemical Brothers and Goldie.

In 2011 Baby D Collaborated with ‘Emalkay’ on the Dubstep track, ”On and On”.

She has received unprecedented support from her fans both newcomers and original and remains music industry gold.
