VegfestUK Online Events and Summits for 2020/2021

14th October 2020

VegfestUK, organisers of some of Europe’s biggest vegan events over the previous 2 decades, have announced a series of Online event and summits to be hosted over the coming months, as live venues across the UK remain closed and subject to restrictions imposed by the advent of COVID-19.

The events and summits are free to attend, hosted on the website www.vegfest.co.uk and across the #vegfestuk social media platforms, including stalls, presentations and livestreams featuring a wide array of vegan and plant based topics.

The next VegfestUK Online takes place November 14th 15th 2020, with a Summit focusing on Wildlife, before a Christmas flavoured weekend December 12th 13th 2020, with a Summit focusing on Animal Rights – An Introduction. Then into Veganuary, January 30th 31st sees a weekend event with a Sunday Summit focusing on AR Activism, before a 3 day Plant Powered Expo Online March 19th 20th 21st including a Trade focus on Friday, and a Health and Fitness focus for the weekend.

This series of events follows on from the successful Summerfest Online event held last August, a weekend packed full of exhibitors, presentations and panels, all of which are available still on the Vegfest.co.uk website.

‘’Working online has been really exhilarating’’ says organiser Tim Barford, who has 5 decades of experience organising live events ‘’in part because its free to attend, and in part because it’s a truly global format, and in part because it’s very accessible. The Saturday allows us to focus on a festival style format especially suitable for people new to the idea of veganism or just getting familiar with plant based diets, whilst the Sunday Summit means a more focused and in depth approach which will suit those already vegan a bit more.’’

‘’Put together, both days for all our online events moving forward will see a feast of all things vegan, a combination of entertainment, education and inspiration, a true reflection on the different tenets and facets of this way of life, and a chance to really explore them in detail with a number of expert speakers and panellists to facilitate this. Plenty of exhibitors too, many with special offers. We’re really looking forward to producing these events and are lucky to be able to move online at a time when events everywhere are facing a very challenging future.’’

VegfestUK plan to run further Online events in 2021 and into 2022, with an eye on a return to live vents formats in 2022 and 2023 dependent on developments.
