If you’re plant-based or vegan in the UK, you’ve likely heard of Plant Based Health Professionals UK – an ever-growing collective of medical professionals doing their part to inspire change and help vegans all over. From analysing the latest studies and explaining their pros and cons, to recording and sharing talks, discussions and panels on various talks pertaining to health & nutrition, their contribution is hard to ignore.



And so, we at VegfestUK are as ever, proud to announce an entire Saturday of talks & panels, organised and hosted by PBHPUK. Taking place on November 12th in the ‘Nutrition’ talks area at VegfestUK London this year, the following line up is available to anyone attending:


“Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic”, Dr Shireen Kassam

In this talk Dr Kassam will discuss lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic as it relates to the vegan movement, bringing together learning for individual and planetary health and for our animal kin.


“Vegan diets, Lifestyle and Cardiovascular Disease”, Dr Sundhya Raman

An essential guide to optimum cardiovascular health. Which matters more, lifestyle or genetics? Which lifestyle shifts give the biggest returns? How does lifestyle compare with drugs?


“Micronutrients in Health and Disease”, Dr Adigo Atabo

Micronutrient deficiency is widespread in the population. 70 to 90% of us are low in vitamin D, associated with bone fracture, high blood pressure, diabetes, prostate cancer, and more. Vitamin D is just one of dozens of micronutrients. Why is there widespread deficiency, and what can we do about it?
