Optimum Physical and Mental Health on a Plant Based Diet

Wellbeing and optimum health is top of the agenda once more at VegfestUK Brighton this Spring April 29th 30th 23 at The Brighton Centre as the Plant Based Health Professionals UK deliver a day long schedule of talks, panels and discussions aimed at helping inform and inspire people to both adopt and optimise plant based diets to improve both physical and mental health through sharing evidence based and up to date research and expertise around the many different facets of plant based diets and lifestyle choices.

The Plant Based Health Professionals UK team are comprised of qualified health professionals including GP’s, specialists, researchers and those on the cutting edge of the most recent studies and research into health, wellbeing and plant based diets, and have been an invaluable part of the VegfestUK events pre covid and throughout lockdowns with a series of online panels and talks – all available free to the public. And now that Live Events have returned, a big crowd is expected over 2 days at Brighton for what is promising to be the highlight of the vegan calendar this first half of 2023.

Shireen Kassam, Founder and Director of Plant-Based Health Professionals UK, told Vegfest UK “I am excited to be hosting a day of evidence-based talks on vegan nutrition and health. Our members will be discussing and sharing their expertise on vegan diets for supporting healthy living at all ages and stages of life. It is never too late or early to adopt a vegan diet and we want all attendees to leave with the knowledge that not only is a vegan diet kinder and more compassionate to our fellow animals, but it can also help us to optimise physical and mental health and well-being.”

“Plant-based health professionals UK is a Community Interest Company dedicated to providing education and advocacy on whole food plant-based nutrition for prevention and treatment of chronic disease. In addition to practicing conventional medicine, we are passionate about promoting health and well-being using whole food plant-based nutrition. There is no doubt that conventional medicine has resulted in some astonishing advances in patient care. However, the current model of healthcare in the UK focuses primarily on treating established disease, rather than emphasising interventions that could prevent or reduce the burden of chronic disease.”

VegfestUK Organisers added “We’re thrilled to see the return of this particular group to our event in Brighton this spring as they bring so much to the table in a balanced informed and accessible format. And with so many people going plant based these days, it’s a key part to staying plant based to get the very best out of the lifestyle, and the wisdom and support from the PBHPUK is invaluable in helping achieve this.”

VegfestUK Brighton is free to the public and sees around 200 exhibitors at the event including a number of vitamin supplements, health tonics and performance products including high protein snack bars and drinks – all of them plant based and suitable for vegans. And there’s a number of talks and summits taking place over the weekend including the Vegan Fitness and Lifestyle Summit, headed up by PBHPUK ambassador and world record holder Kate Strong.
