A lively community-based event close to the centre of town, the Bristol Vegan Fayre Summer edition takes place at Document in St Judes on Saturday August 24th from 11am – 6pm with an outstanding collection of vegan food on offer alongside a number of independent traders and a lineup of live music, talks and comedy at the show. Around 1500 people are expected to attend this much loved and long-standing vegan event, which started life back in Bristol in 2003.
Live music from local acts including Albex Acoustic Duo, Emaline Delapaix, David Robinson aka The Cold Heart Revue, Fossilheads Climate Crisis Cabaret, David Camilli, Giles Bryant and Sweet Goose are joined by Swedish based Vystopia for an eclectic lineup with animal rights and the environment central themes for the performers, & with Ibiza Chill playing all day in the outside covered canopy area, and comedy inside the Talks room in the afternoon, & a Kids area too, there’s plenty of entertainment at the show.
10 vegan street food caterers are in attendance with an abundance of choice, textures and flavours from around the world – all of them plant based, and alongside an array of vegan pastries, savouries, doughnuts, cheesecake, cakes and ice cream ensuring a completely vegan paradise for foodies of all descriptions. ‘30% of attendees are not vegan, and nearly all of them leave with a very good impression of vegan food options. If you’re not yet vegan but curious about plant based options and interested in sampling the very best, this show is for you!’
Some uplifting and inspiring talks will also be taking place at the event, with vegan MP for Bristol East Kerry McCarthy in attendance talking about the new Labour Government plans for animals, and Giles Bryant outlining How To Thrive on a Vegan Diet which will be of interest to many within the vegan community as well as newcomers to the plant based lifestyle. Tracey & Simon West from Word Forest will be presenting about their reforestation work in Kenya, and campaigners from local activists groups will be joining the show for some panels and discussions.
‘Bristol Vegan Fayre is always lively, fun, uplifting and inspirational, and open to all ages and interests, great for people who aren’t vegan, and makes for a very good springboard for those wanting to find out more about what it means to be vegan. Plus there’s some truly outstanding independent local traders at the show (around 80 stalls in all including a number of charities, sanctuaries and community interest companies) and some really good projects to support at this community based event – come and join us for some tasty vegan treats and live music & all the fun of the fayre!’
