The London Vegan Fayre returns to Kensington Town Hall on Saturday December 6th from 10am – 6pm, and tickets for the event are now on sale, including a limited period BOGOF offer running until November 7th, and a BOGOHP offer until the end of November. Tickets are also available on the door subject to availability.
Kensington Town Hall has played host to vegan events in December for a number of decades now, and it’s fitting that Animal Aid are sponsoring this years event, after hosting the much loved Xmas Without Cruelty show at the same venue last decade. Animal Aid will be present with a stall for their campaigns work alongside their education team who are also hosting a reception for their volunteer school speakers.
Food is once again the big highlight, with an array of global street food caterers and artisan food providers including plant-based cheese samples and a massive array of cakes and sweet goods alongside a number of Christmas related items, as well as street food from several corners of the world. Once fed, there’s a selection of comedy and music to keep visitors entertained including the award-winning comedian Dawn Chorus (Lee Brace) alongside live appearances from Vegan Queen V and the newly founded Animal Rights Choir, plus some eye-catching celebrities on stage for some fireside chats, including author John King, who wrote ‘The Football Factory’ in the 90’s and has recently published a new book about vivisection called ‘Peekaboo Bosh’.
Downstairs there’s a whole programme of talks and demos including a vegan cheese demo and a talk on optimum nutrition for dogs and cats with Just Be Kind Dog & Cat Food, plus a look at vegan businesses with Keith Lesser from Vegan Accountants, alongside a number of campaigns related talks including new campaign groups Rescue Not Retail, and the chair of the Hunt Sabs Association with an update on the hunting ban, and throughout the show there’s a variety of interesting stalls including educational charities and community interest companies alongside some terrific gifts, clothing, bodycare, makeup and accessories ensuring plenty of choice for vegans in the run up to the holiday season.
‘Veganism and interest in plant-based diets is growing in the UK still with an estimated one million vegans in the UK and many more eating pretty much plant based. The quality and variety in plant-based food has shifted exponentially and the London Vegan Fayre showcases some of the very best options available. Although an absolute haven for anyone vegan, the event is also a fabulous opportunity for people curious about plant-based diets to come and sample some of the very best, whilst meeting some truly inspirational and uplifting people within the vegan community. Times have been challenging for many people this year – the London Vegan Fayre presents a genuinely multicultural event that is grounded in fairness, justice, inclusivity and compassion and welcomes people from all walks of life. Everyone is welcome in the house.’
