Carla is co-leader of the Green Party of England and Wales, alongside Adrian Ramsay and their deputy Zack Polanski (all of whom are vegan). She is also a Bristol City Councillor, part of the largest Green councillor group in the UK. And she is the Green Party’s Parliamentary candidate for Bristol Central.

In 2018 she proposed the first Climate Emergency declaration in Europe, committing Bristol to go carbon neutral by 2030 and inspiring hundreds of other organisations to follow her lead.
