Dr. Hayley Tait MB,ChB, MRCS, MRCGP

Hayley is an NHS GP based in Liverpool, UK. Qualifying in 1995, she has worked in the NHS for 25 years and in general practice since 2005. She has always felt immense privilege in her role as a Doctor and remains passionate in her work promoting a plant based diet for health as part of lifestyle medicine. She is a member of BSLM and recently joined the team at Plant Based Health Professionals, UK. 

 

After adopting a vegan lifestyle in 2017 sparked by watching a you-tube clip “dairy is scary”, she explored the benefits of a whole food plant based diet for health and went on to complete the certificate in Plant Based Nutrition from Winchester University in Feb 2020. 

 

Hayley is concerned with health inequalities and the association with food poverty and low accessibility to healthful foods. In November 2019 she wrote and published a plant based cook book:

and enjoys maintaining her Instagram feed Health_on_the_Hob with regular recipes and insta-live cookalongs. Her hope is to ignite a passion in everyone to cook healthy, plant based meals and that healthful food is accessible and affordable for everyone with the positive knock on effects for the planet and all beings. 

 

As well as eating abundant plants, Hayley tries to maintain a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise, cold water swims, meditation, maintaining positive social connections and enjoying a good night’s sleep. She lives with her daughter, 2 dogs and 2 chickens.
