Essential Trading Co-operative are Bristol’s wholefoods wholesaler. We’re a fully vegetarian business specialising in organic, sustainable and ethical products. We produce some of our own-brand range in-house at our warehouse in Fishponds, and are listed under Ethical Consumer’s Best Buys. We have two direct-to-consumer shops called Harvest, on Gloucester Road in Bristol and Walcot Street in Bath. We’re a worker co-op (owned and operated by our workers); the biggest in the South West. We prioritise trading with and supporting like-minded, independent businesses and community projects. In 2024 we pledged to support Business Without Blood Sports, and Bristol Local Food Fund.
