Hilary Jones

Lush Ethics Director

Before joining Lush 29 years ago, Hilary was a campaigner and an activist and had also spent some years driving an animal ambulance for a charity and dealing with injured wildlife. Her journey with Lush began with working in the factory making soap, then as the company grew she worked in many different areas, even learning to drive a forklift truck to load deliveries during her time in Despatch. She is now Lush’s Ethics Director, spearheading campaigns that speak out on many issues around human rights, animal protection and preserving the environment. Hilary is also part of the Lush Prize management committee, an initiative launched in 2012, and the largest international annual prize in the non-animal testing sector, awarding those who have made significant scientific and legislative advancements in removing the use of animals in testing.

Bringing an End to Animal Testing

This panel will provide an overview of the current situation regarding animal experiments in Great Britain and globally. Looking to a future without animal experiments, the panel will discuss the different areas where animals are experimented upon and look at the ‘alternatives‘ (non-animal new approach methodologies – NAMs), the possible barriers to NAMs use and a future without animal experiments.

The four panellists all have many years of experience and knowledge of this important area of animal harm and exploitation and will each bring a unique perspective on this topic. Please join us as we discuss how we can truly ‘bring an end to animal testing’ with your support.

Following the panel, at 1.45 there will be a short update from Camp Beagle, with Sole Iriart.

Takeaways

”To look at the issue of animal experiments, from multiple viewpoints, to expedite an end to ALL animal experiments”
