Jess Swallow is a lawyer and social entrepreneur. A specialist in litigation, she has guided businesses and consumers through commercial disputes, advised well-known charities and parliamentary groups on existing and proposed legislation, assisted clients with private prosecutions of animal welfare offences, and helped vegans assert their rights under human rights and equality law. She has written papers on law and philosophy for publications like the Law Gazette and the American Bar Association’s International Law News.
An advocate for unheard voices, Jess’ career has been characterised by an unwavering commitment to justice, whether that be an individual asserting consumer rights, a family seeking justice for a beloved animal companion or a campaigning group investigating criminal conduct.
Jess’ latest venture is The Vegan Inclusion Co, which is shining a light on the unique challenges faced by vegans at work and the impact that this can have on their mental health and productivity. It educates vegans about their legal rights at work and supports employers in accommodating them. It does this through its assessment and certification process, which identifies areas for improvement, helps employers to implement changes and then certifies Vegan-Inclusive Workplaces.
