I’m a Filipina animal rights climate justice organizer in Brooklyn. My family is from the Philippines, which is the country most affected by the climate crisis. I became vegan and an activist two years ago after learning that animal agriculture is the number one cause of the climate climate crisis. I soon made the connection between speciesism and my own personal experiences with ableism and racism. As an indigenous person and someone on the autism spectrum, I want the public to understand that veganism is a starting place and necessary for addressing social inequality and environmental justice. In 2018, I was part of a mass arrest with 79 other activists while engaging in peaceful civil disobedience at a duck slaughterhouse and factory farm in Petaluma, California.
