Been acting for 30 years in theatre, TV and film. Most recently in Slow Horses (Apple TV), Romeo & Juliet (Almeida Theatre). Best known for Line of Duty, Utopia, and The Thick of It. Author of two plays produced by National Theatre of Scotland and Citizens Theatre. Author of a blog post about growing up in poverty and becoming addicted to alcohol that has been read and shared by thousands of people all over the world, including in Japan, China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Mexico and Brazil.
