Roger Wright is an accomplished singer, songwriter, actor …
He began as an international model, shooting campaigns with leading brands and gracing the catwalk in London, New York, Milan, and Paris.
Alongside modelling, Roger pursued his passion for music, forming the group Fresh with his brother Steven. The duo released Feel My Rhythm and Did I Say Taimo with Magnet Records.
His break into musical theatre came unexpectedly when he was sent into the wrong audition room by a receptionist—he ended up securing the lead role in Hotstuff and igniting a successful stage career.
Roger made West End history as the first performer to play adult Simba in the original London cast of The Lion King, and later portrayed Marvin Gaye in Dancing in the Streets and Cab Calloway in The Blues Brothers.
He also gained national TV recognition in front of million on ITV’s Superstar, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s casting show, where he finished in an impressive third place.

In 1999 Roger was chosen out of literally thousands of hopefuls to play the role of the adult Simba in the original West end cast of ‘The Lion King’ at the Lyceum theatre in London.

Roger returned to the West end stage as ‘Marvin Gaye’ in the Motown musical ‘Dancing in the Streets’ at the Cambridge theatre in London.

Prior to the West End opening of this production, he toured the UK with the same Company performing with the Motown Legend ‘Martha Reeves’ who was narrator and star of the show.

Roger played ‘Simba’ for a second time, this time at the Disney Resort in Paris in the show, ‘The Legend of The Lion King.’..then returned to the West End as compere and one of four principal singers in the Michael Jackson West end show, ‘Thriller Live’

You may recognise Roger from the Andrew Lloyd Webber/ITV studios tv show, ‘Superstar ..
