Campaign Spotlight - Camp Beagle

Camp Beagle is the world’s longest-running, permanent grassroots animal rights protest camp. We are physically camped outside MBR Acres in Cambridgeshire, a dog breeding factory, supplying over 2000 beagle puppies yearly to laboratories in the UK and abroad for animal testing.
The Camp has been running 24/7 since the summer of 2021 working tirelessly on an exposure and pressure campaign to shut down MBR Acres.

Our campaign revolves around three key activities:

1. WE INVESTIGATE the hidden secrets of MBR and gather evidence on the suffering of the MBR beagles.
2. WE EXPOSE their secrets, far and wide, to raise public awareness of the cruelty of animal testing and the existence of scientifically superior non-animal methods.
3. WE BUILD POLITICAL PRESSURE to urge politicians to change legislation
to end animal testing and introduce Non-Animal Methods.

Come to hear what Camp Beagle is doing to save the MBR beagles and end animal testing and how you can get involved.

How we can all contribute to ending animal testing

Brief look at the history of the antivivisection movement in the UK highlighting some effective tactics previously used, a benefits and limitations evaluation of different strategies available to fight animal testing, and a discussion on how we can all contribute to the fight to end animal testing.
The workshop will explore both individual actions and campaign strategies; and facilitate a discussion on how different campaigning approaches can complement and support each other to strengthen the antivivisection movement as a whole.

Bringing an End to Animal Testing

This panel will provide an overview of the current situation regarding animal experiments in Great Britain and globally. Looking to a future without animal experiments, the panel will discuss the different areas where animals are experimented upon and look at the ‘alternatives‘ (non-animal new approach methodologies – NAMs), the possible barriers to NAMs use and a future without animal experiments.

The four panellists all have many years of experience and knowledge of this important area of animal harm and exploitation and will each bring a unique perspective on this topic. Please join us as we discuss how we can truly ‘bring an end to animal testing’ with your support.

Following the panel, at 1.45 there will be a short update from Camp Beagle, with Sole Iriart.
