Steve & Melissa

Owners of Vegan Muscle

My background (Steve) is I have been a personal trainer for a very long time now around 20 years and I have always been into bodybuilding. I have been a competitive bodybuilder and have competed in the bodybuilding under 90kg class for a number of years, my last comp was around 5 years ago (but….. I am toying with the idea of perhaps competing again now I am vegan to show the world and break the myths!)

My wife Mel I met in the gym and although Mel hasn’t done any competitions yet she also is thinking of doing her first competition as a vegan too!

We have been vegan now for 2 years after learning all the truths and we haven’t looked back! We went vegan for animal rights and then just found that actually our bodies started thriving like never before! We really wanted to show the world that vegans can be strong and healthy and what happens to animals in these industries was horrifying so we looked for casual wear with vegan messages on it to promote being vegan.

We then looked for vegan gym wear as we spent most of our time in the gym and really wanted to break the typical “bro science” you hear around the weight benches and to do it all in a positive way! We couldn’t find what we wanted…. So vegan muscle was born!

So we have only been open about 7 months now but around 1 1/2 years of design / planning and manufacturing before that so we are now starting to expand and release more and more products and to network out and grow. We have teamed up with an amazing vegan supplement brand called Vivo life and we are also affiliate athletes with them. We have made some awesome friends such as Omar Glaspy, Paul and Gemma from hench herbivore you tube channel who is another vegan UK bodybuilder, the vegan bodybuilder (John Thomas) and a few more!

We are loving meeting more and more people with the same mindset as us and who are also wanting to show the world how awesome being vegan is!

Going forward this year is going to be brilliant! We are doing quite a few events two of which will be Vegfest Brighton at the end of April and then Vegfest London which will be in November as well as a few talks at some vegan festivals throughout the year. We hope to raise Vegan Muscle awareness as much as we can with the goal of releasing more products and showing more and more people how vegan athletes not only survive we thrive!
