Dismantling Systems of Oppression

Join TEDx Speaker Stuart Evans for an engaging workshop where we will explore various theoretical frameworks that can help us to understand and combat animal oppression. The workshop will examine how power and inequality shape our society, how social and economic structures influence our beliefs and behaviors, and how learning from perspectives that prioritise marginalised voices can aid in the ideology of total liberation.

By connecting the struggles for animal rights, human rights, and environmental justice, we will highlight the importance of multidimensional liberation in the abolition of oppression. This session aims to demonstrate how these ideas can be applied to foster a more just and compassionate world for all beings. Ideal for anyone committed to making a positive impact in the AR movement!

Animals Rights & Human Rights

Recent surveys amongst vegan activists suggests the movement is currently spilt down the middle on this contentious topic – should human rights be a part of animal rights, or should we be an ‘animals only’ movement? This constructive supportive panel looks at different viewpoints, with a view to seeking learning outcomes and understanding different positions, and increasing the peace.
